    PFM Asset Management LLC’s Investment Accounting group (based in our Harrisburg, PA office) is seeking a Senior Investment Reporting Specialist to join its team that is responsible for reporting on investment pools the firm manages.



    PFMAM is a privately held registered investment advisor headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, with offices around the country, and is among the leading investment managers in the United States. For more than a quarter century, PFMAM has managed institutional client assets consisting largely of state and local governments, not for profit and insurance entities and other institutional investors. The company manages over $100 billion in assets, with portfolios concentrated in short/intermediate term fixed income instruments, mutual funds and ETF’s.


    Of the assets PFMAM manages, over $30 billion are investment pools through 17 local government investment pool (LGIP) programs and 2 SEC registered mutual funds.  One of the SEC registered mutual funds is a government money market fund, while the other is a multi-manager series trust which offers domestic equity, international equity and bond fund portfolios that each employ sub-advisors to achieve different strategies.  The SEC registered government money market fund and all of the LGIPs are administered internally by PFMAM.  The multi-manager series trust is administered by a third-party administrator over which PFMAM provides oversight. 



    The Senior Investment Reporting Specialist uses advanced skills gained through training and experience to utilize internal fund accounting systems to provide clients and internal departments with financial statements, detailed trustee quarterly reporting and data required by third parties for the investment funds PFMAM administers internally. They will also assist in the daily oversight of a third-party administrator for the multi-manager series trust, as periodic reporting functions comparable to those for the investment funds managed internally.  They must deliver superior client service through accuracy, timeliness and consistency.  This involves close interaction with fellow workers, other departments, rating agencies, independent accounting firms and a third-party administrator. 




    Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Using generally accepted accounting principles to interim and annual financial statements for the various internally administered pool programs and management reports
    • Assist with the daily oversight of accounting information of the third-party administrator for the multi-manager series trust
    • Analyze investment income and expenses for the pool programs to ensure the expenses accruals are accurate and adjusted timely
    • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance
    • Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to management
    • Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
    • Support month-end and year-end closing and management fee invoicing for each investment fund
    • Prepare drafts of regulatory reports for the SEC registered Investment Company which PFM administers internally, and assist with oversight of these filings prepared by the third-party administrator for the multi-manager series trust
    • Interface with external auditors as they independently review the LGIP and mutual fund annual reports
    • Prepare and file tax returns for the investment pools administered internally, and assist with reviewing the tax returns prepared externally for the multi-manager series trust
    • Assist in preparation of data to various rating agencies/outside data vendors.
    • Develop, coordinate distribution, and maintain reporting templates for investment reporting
    • Assist with writing and ensuring adherence to processes related to all standard reporting
    • Participate in the development and changes to areas of responsibility that would enhance, improve or facilitate job performance, process or workflow
    • Assist in maintaining, testing, and evaluating software upgrades and enhancements
    • Update job knowledge by keeping current with financial regulations and accepted practices; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.




    The ideal candidate would possess experience supporting multiple projects and working under various deadlines. We are seeking individuals with the following skills and qualities:


    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting or economics
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience with accounting, tax or regulatory reporting for mutual funds, fixed income investments and financial statement preparation
    • CPA preferred; past audit or financial reporting experience is a plus
    • Strong and extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
    • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
    • Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team
    • Proficiency with intermediate / advanced functions in MS Excel
