    PFM Asset Management LLC’s Accounting Group is seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist to be based in our Harrisburg, PA office.

    JOB OVERVIEW

    A Financial Reporting Specialist uses advanced skills gained through training and experience to utilize internal fund accounting systems to provide clients and internal departments with financial statements, detailed trustee quarterly reporting and data required by third parties. They must deliver superior client service through accuracy, timeliness and consistency.  This involves close interaction with fellow workers, other departments, rating agencies and independent accounting firms.

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Using generally accepted accounting principles to interim and annual financial statements for the various pool programs and management reports
    • Analyze investment income and expenses for the pool programs to ensure the expenses accruals are accurate and adjusted timely
    • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance
    • Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to management
    • Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
    • Support month-end and year-end closing and pool management fee invoicing
    • Prepare and file regulatory reports for the SEC registered Investment Company which PFM administers
    • Interface with pool program auditors as they independently review the pool programs and Registered Investment Company’s annual reports
    • Prepare and file tax returns for the various investment pool programs
    • Assist in preparation of data to various rating agencies/outside data vendors.
    • Develop, coordinate distribution, and maintain reporting templates for investment reporting
    • Assist with writing and ensuring adherence to processes related to all standard reporting
    • Participate in the development and changes to areas of responsibility that would enhance, improve or facilitate job performance, process or workflow
    • Assist in developing and maintaining a strong internal control environment within the Investment Accounting function
    • Assist in maintaining, testing, and evaluating software upgrades and enhancements
    • Update job knowledge by keeping current with financial regulations and accepted practices; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

     

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The ideal candidate would possess experience supporting multiple projects and working under various deadlines. We are seeking individuals with the following skills and qualities:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting or economics
    • Strong and extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC Reporting
    • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
    • Prior experience with accounting for fixed income investments and financial statement preparation a plus
    • Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team
    • Experience with MS Excel
    • CPA preferred and past audit or financial reporting experience is a plus

     

    COMPENSATION

    Compensation includes a competitive base salary, incentive / bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefits package.  PFM also offers participation in a profit sharing and 401K program.
