    Manager, Workday Application Delivery & Support

    Position Summary

    This critical technology role will function as the focal point for leading and managing PFM’s ERP systems platform (Workday), including providing strategic, tactical, and operational oversight and leadership to expand and optimize platform capabilities to support PFM’s growth and evolving business objectives.    


    • Core Responsibilities:

      • Provide leadership and management oversight to a group of technical professionals supporting various aspects of the Workday platform, including, but not limited to:
        • Integrations with internal and externals systems and partners
        • Application and data security configuration and management
        • Custom reporting needs
        • Functional configuration release management
        • Upgrade planning
        • Testing methodology
      • Partner with key business stakeholders to define and develop long-term functional roadmaps supporting various business domains, including:
        • Human Resources Administration
        • Benefits Administration
        • Recruiting
        • Payroll
        • Financial Accounting
        • Financial Planning
      • Identify and implement logical self-service mechanisms for platform power users (e.g. reporting, configuration management, testing)
      • Alert business partners to relevant new functionality in upcoming new Workday releases, and potential impact/benefit of those changes
      • Design and manage work intake processes to ensure appropriate balance of supply vs. demand, while ensuring appropriate prioritization and expectation setting with business stakeholders
      • Provide leadership for working with integration partners and constructing/testing/maintaining integrations
      • Facilitate data conversion activities for business acquisitions and similar scenarios
      • Function as technical focal point for all interactions with Workday service provider
      • Proactively evaluate, plan, and test for upcoming Workday releases to ensure no disruption to services
      • Identify and implement 3rd party tools to facilitate efficiency and quality
      • Optimize software support processes to increase reliability and supportability
      • Optimize software delivery and integration processes to increase velocity, transparency, communication effectiveness, and quality
      • Construct role profiles to address skills gaps, recruit new team members to fill staffing needs, and provide professional growth opportunities for existing team members




    Education, Experience & Skillset Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline required
    • Strong business acumen and ability to actively participate in business strategy and prioritization setting exercises
    • Relevant knowledge in targeted business domains, including HR, Accounting, & Payroll
    • At least 5 years’ experience leading a software delivery and support organization, including functions such as architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
    • At least 2 years’ experience in Workday technical platform elements, including experience in either building or managing integrations/reports using available tools (e.g. EIB, CCB, Studio, BIRT, DT/XSLT):
    • At least 1 years’ experience in Workday security management elements, including experience in building/managing users, roles, service accounts, auditing practices, etc.
    • At least 2 years’ exposure to Workday business process and associated workflow definitions, configurations, and implementations
    • Strong team-building skills, with an emphasis on coaching, mentoring and fostering self-empowerment
    • Very strong communication skills, across numerous constituencies, utilizing interpersonal, written, and presentation mediums
    • Strong program management and project management skills
