    PFM's Arlington office located in the Ballston area of Arlington County, is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant (internally titled “Associate”) for a small business environment/regional office within a medium-sized, national financial services firm. This position supports the administrative team within the Virginia practice. Recent graduates, upcoming graduates, or qualified candidates with related post-graduate experience are all encouraged to apply.


    The PFM Associate (Administrative Assistant) is an experienced individual who possesses strong organizational skills, is able to handle multiple tasks at once and perform under deadlines. This individual will be responsible for preparing detailed work including the creation of presentations, reports and marketing materials for an expanding and active practice. In that capacity, he/she must be good with numbers as well as software. Attention to detail is crucial.  Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential given the deadline-driven job requirements.


    Entry-level or experienced Administrative Assistants are encouraged to apply.

    Responsibilities include:


    • Preparing, creating and producing presentations, reports, proposals and other client work products using Word, Excel and PowerPoint


    • Editorial and production support for client deliverables


    • Receptionist duties (including answering, screening and routing incoming phone calls)


    • Scheduling meetings and conference calls


    • Hard copy and electronic file management


    • Assisting with maintenance and updating of contact database


    • Assisting with office facilities tasks and supplies stock management


    Requirements include:


    • Upcoming graduates, college degree or equivalent experience


    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel


    • Minimum of one year of experience in a comparable administrative role


    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision


    • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments


    • Professionalism in all communications including phone and e-mail


    • Knowledge of standard reference sources and information gathering methods; ability to research information in response to specific direction


    • Absolute accuracy when preparing documents within a tight time frame


    • Solid knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation


    • Ability to rapidly, courteously and accurately screen and route incoming phone calls


    • Ability to communicate effectively with others and establish and maintain effective working relationships with PFM team members, clients and the general public
