Position Description

PFM’s IT department is seeking a Web Development Intern to work as a key member of our growing software team in PFM’s Philadelphia office. This is a great position for the ambitious person that excels in a fast-paced work environment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with and provide technical contributions to a team as you design, develop, and support mission critical solutions using a mix of technologies, principally Angular, C#, and SQL

In this position, you will be expected to perform software development activities supporting both employee and customer-facing applications, as well as assist in systems integration functions between 3rd party applications and internal systems.


  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications and upgrades.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems
  • Deliver high quality code in a timely manner 
  • Contribute to project planning, system and data design
  • Contribute to best practices documentation for coding standards
  • Create documentation, requirement analysis and user guidelines , and project technical specifications


  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) program in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
  • Experience with HTML, Javascript and CSS, C#, or other object-oriented programming languages, and associated tools (e.g. Visual Studio)
  • Experience with code versioning tools such as TFS/GIT
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, OO principles and common design patterns

          Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of established as well as emerging web technologies (e.g. HTML5, ES5, ES6, AngularJS, ReactJS, TypeScript, CSS3, LESS, SASS, GWT, Node.js, Knockout.js etc.…)
  • Ability to quickly prototype an idea into a framework UX
  • Knowledge and experience in SQL and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience building and using RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with software development productivity and lifecycle tools (e.g. continuous integration & continuous deployment)
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with Distributed Version Control System such as GIT
  • Familiarity with SDLC planning/execution tools such as Jira, Rally, etc.
  • Familiarity with Unit Testing
