PFMAM specializes in managing investments for clients in the government, insurance, healthcare, higher education and other institutional sectors.

 

PFMAM is currently seeking a Senior Analyst to assist with new business development for its investment advisory practice in Southern California. The role will be based in our Los Angeles office, and affords the successful candidate an opportunity to learn about our services from the ground up while working closely with the region's Managing Director and other seasoned professionals.

Responsibilities

Key tasks include:

  • Direct support of senior team members in all aspects of marketing and sales; including but not limited to managing prospect pipeline, conducting research on target, preparing for meetings, transcribing notes and ensuring appropriate follow up with targets;
  • Presentations and Networking - Prepare presentations for prospective customers which demonstrate the advantages and capabilities of the company and its’ products and services;
  • Proposals – Work with analysts, associates, and senior team members to write compelling proposals and manage the proposal processes;
  • Manage Prospect Pipeline – Track and record information on targets, leads, and opportunities in PFM’s CRM system;
  • Analysis –Work with analysts to analyze various options to come up with optimal investment solutions for our clients; 
  • Working with our Client Service Group, accounting and trading desk to ensure smooth implementation of new clients and transition to local relationship manager;
  • Coordinate information flow between staff and PFM project and product managers on a regular basis; 
  • Create innovative ways of educating clients and prospects on current market events and investment opportunities;
  • Attend industry conferences; and
  • Support other sales, marketing and service activities as appropriate.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants should have some client-facing work experience, knowledge of the institutional investment market, and experience working in or with public sector and other institutional investors.

 

Individuals interested in this role should possess strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, highly organized and have demonstrated success working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of related experience, preferably in public sector/municipal finance, sales, banking, investment management, trust or financial services arena.
  • Current, active Series 6 & 63 certifications are desired, or candidate must be willing to obtain as a requirement of employment in this role.
  • Knowledge of equity and fixed income funds, short and intermediate term fixed income investments, and money market instruments a plus.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and proactive with a desire to succeed and to grow within the firm.

JOB LOCATION
Some travel within California is a requirement of this position. When not traveling, this person will work from the Los Angeles office.
